A renowned production designer and art director by profession and a social activist at heart, Sukant Panigrahy is a name to reckon with in the field of art-direction in Bollywood.
Mr Panigrahy, who has won many national and international awards for his art direction, has designed sets for several path-breaking movies like Gangajal , Chak De India, Aaja Nachle, Tashan, Bheja Fry 2 and Chillar Party. His production design for films like Jhoom Barabar Jhoom, Dil Bole Hadippa!, Badmaash Company and No One Killed Jessica has attracted considerable critical attention in India as well as abroad.
One of his passions is to create art installations out of waste to create awareness of the hazards of mindless consumption and improper disposal of waste. He has done numerous installations at several events including the Kala Ghoda festival and the Matheran Green Festival. His attempt is also to introduce the concept of recycling in his day to day work as a professional artist for films.
